Call to Worship (based on Luke 24:13-35)

Leader: On that same day, two disciples were walking to a village called Emmaus, talking with each other about all the things that had happened.

People: Lord, we come to You today carrying our own conversations — our questions, our confusion, our searching for answers.

Leader: While they were talking, Jesus Himself came near and walked with them, but their eyes were kept from recognizing Him.

People: Open our eyes, Lord! You are walking with us even now. Do not let us miss Your presence among us.

Leader: He said to them, “What are you discussing with each other while you walk along?” And they stood still, looking sad.

People: We confess, Lord, that we have carried our sorrows as though You were not near. We have walked in sadness when You were right beside us.

Leader: Then beginning with Moses and all the prophets, He interpreted to them the things about Himself in all the Scriptures.

People: Speak to us through Your Word today, O Christ! Unfold the Scriptures before us, that we might see You on every page.

Leader: As He sat at table with them, He took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to them. Then their eyes were opened, and they recognized Him.

People: In the breaking of the bread, we see You, Lord! In the fellowship of this house, reveal Yourself to us again.

Leader: They said to each other, “Were not our hearts burning within us while He was talking to us on the road, while He was opening the Scriptures to us?”

People: Set our hearts on fire, Lord! Burn within us as You speak. May we never be the same for having been in Your presence today.

All: Come, let us worship the Risen Christ — who draws near to us on the road, opens the Scriptures to our understanding, and reveals Himself in the breaking of bread. Our Lord is alive, and He walks among us still! Amen.

Opening Prayer (based on Acts 2:14a, 36-41)

Let us pray:

Gracious and Sovereign God, we come before You this morning as a people who have heard the good news and believed. Like those gathered in Jerusalem on the Day of Pentecost, we have been confronted with a truth that demands a response — that this Jesus, whom the world rejected, You have made both Lord and Messiah.

We thank You, Father, that Your Word still has the power to cut us to the heart. In a world that has grown dull to truth and deaf to conviction, we pray that You would pierce us again with the sharp edge of Your gospel. Do not let us sit comfortably in our religion. Disturb us with Your grace. Awaken us with Your mercy. Remind us that the message Peter preached in the streets of Jerusalem is the same message that calls to us today: Repent, and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

We rejoice, Lord, that Your promise is for us and for our children and for all who are far away — everyone whom You, the Lord our God, call to Yourself. What a breathtaking promise! No one is beyond the reach of Your grace. No one is too far gone for Your mercy. No one stands outside the circle of Your invitation.

Father, just as three thousand souls were added to the church that day, we pray that You would still draw men and women to Yourself through the preaching of Your Word. Save us from this corrupt generation — not by our own strength, but by the power of Your Spirit and the authority of the risen Christ.

Now speak to us, Lord. Open our hearts to receive what You have for us today. May we leave this place as those first believers did — changed, committed, and on fire with the message of the gospel.

In the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and our Messiah, we pray. Amen.

Leader: On the evening of that first day, when the doors were locked for fear, Jesus came and stood among His disciples and said, “Peace be with you.”

People: Even behind our locked doors — our doubts, our fears, our failures — Jesus comes to us and speaks His peace.

Leader: He showed them His hands and His side, and the disciples rejoiced when they saw the Lord.

People: Show us Your wounds, O Christ, that we might know the depth of Your love for us.

Leader: Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I send you.”

People: My Lord and my God! We declare it with Thomas — You are our Lord, and You are our God!

Leader: Jesus said, “Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have come to believe.”

People: We have not seen, yet we believe! We place our faith in the Risen Christ!

All: Come, let us worship the Risen Lord — who meets us in our fear, answers us in our doubt, and gives us peace that the world cannot offer. Amen.

Opening Prayer (based on Acts 2:14a, 22-32)

Let us pray:

Almighty God, Creator and Sustainer of all life, we gather in Your presence this day with hearts full of wonder and gratitude. Like those who stood in the streets of Jerusalem on the Day of Pentecost, we have come to hear a word from You — a word of power, a word of truth, a word that changes everything.

We thank You, Father, for Jesus of Nazareth — a man attested to us by mighty works, wonders, and signs that You performed through Him. We confess that these were no accident of history, but the unfolding of Your definite plan and foreknowledge. You have always been at work, even when the world could not see it. Help us to trust that You are still at work today — in our lives, in our church, and in this broken world.

We stand in awe before the mystery of the cross — that the very hands of lawless men became instruments of Your sovereign purpose. What seemed like the darkest defeat was, in truth, Your greatest victory. Teach us, Lord, to see Your hand even in the places where hope seems lost.

And now, O God, our hearts rise with the great proclamation of the apostle Peter: You raised Jesus up, loosing the pangs of death, because it was not possible for Him to be held by it. Death could not contain Him! The grave could not hold Him! We worship a risen Savior, and because He lives, we too shall live.

Like David, who spoke in faith of what was to come, we set the Lord always before us. With Him at our right hand, we shall not be shaken. Fill our hearts today with the gladness and joy that come from knowing that You have made known to us the paths of life.

Open our ears to hear Your Word. Open our eyes to behold Your glory. Open our hearts to receive Your grace. And may everything spoken and sung in this place today bring honor to the name of Jesus Christ — whom You raised from the dead and exalted as both Lord and Messiah.

In the strong and matchless name of our risen Lord we pray. Amen.

Call to Worship (based on John 20:1-18)

Leader: Early on the first day of the week, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene came to the tomb — and found the stone had been removed.

People: The darkness could not hold back the dawn. Death could not hold back the Lord of Life!

Leader: She ran to Simon Peter and the other disciple and said, “They have taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we do not know where they have laid him.”

People: In our grief, we too have searched for Jesus in the wrong places. We have looked for the living among the dead.

Leader: Peter and the beloved disciple ran to the tomb. They saw the linen wrappings lying there, and the cloth that had been on Jesus’ head, rolled up in a place by itself.

People: This was no act of theft. This was the careful, deliberate work of a risen Savior. Even in resurrection, our Lord brings order out of chaos.

Leader: The disciples saw and believed, then returned to their homes. But Mary stood weeping outside the tomb.

People: Lord, we confess that even when the evidence surrounds us, we sometimes return to our old ways. Give us eyes to see and hearts to stay.

Leader: Two angels in white asked her, “Woman, why are you weeping?” She said, “They have taken away my Lord, and I do not know where they have laid him.”

People: When sorrow clouds our vision, we cannot see what stands right before us. Open our eyes this Easter morning, Lord.

Leader: She turned around and saw Jesus standing there, but she did not know that it was Jesus. He said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you looking for?”

People: He is always closer than we realize, always seeking us even as we seek Him.

Leader: Supposing Him to be the gardener, she said, “Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have laid him.” Then Jesus said to her — “Mary!”

People: He calls us each by name! The Good Shepherd knows His sheep, and His sheep know His voice!

Leader: She turned and said to Him, “Rabbouni!” — which means Teacher.

People: When He speaks our name, everything changes. Our mourning turns to joy, our confusion turns to clarity, our despair turns to hope!

Leader: Jesus said to her, “Do not hold on to me, because I have not yet ascended to the Father. But go to my brothers and say to them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’”

People: The risen Christ sends us out with the greatest news the world has ever heard!

Leader: Mary Magdalene went and announced to the disciples, “I have seen the Lord.”

People: And we have seen Him too — in the promise of His Word, in the power of His Spirit, and in the hope of this resurrection morning!

Leader: Christ is risen!

People: He is risen indeed!

Leader: Come, let us worship our living, reigning, risen Lord!

All: Alleluia! Alleluia! Amen!

Opening Prayer (based on Psalm 118:1-2,14-24)

Let us pray:

Almighty and ever-living God, we give thanks to You this glorious Easter morning, for You are good, and Your steadfast love endures forever. Let all Your people say it again with joy — Your mercy endures forever!

Lord, You are our strength and our song, and on this day of days, You have become our salvation. We hear the sounds of joy and victory rising from the tents of the righteous, for Your right hand has done mighty things. Your right hand is lifted high. Your right hand has done mighty things!

Father, we confess that there were moments when it seemed as though death had won, when the darkness of Friday overwhelmed our hope. Yet You, O God, would not abandon Your Son to the grave. You did not give Him over to death. Instead, You raised Him so that He might live and declare Your works to every generation.

We stand in awe this morning before the gate of the Lord, that open tomb through which our risen Savior walked in triumph. The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone of our faith, of our hope, and of our eternal future. This is Your doing, O Lord, and it is marvelous in our eyes.

This is the day that You have made — not just any day, but the day that changed every day that would follow. We rejoice and are glad in it! We do not take this morning for granted. We do not treat this celebration as routine. We come with grateful hearts, with voices ready to praise, and with spirits eager to worship the risen Christ.

Save us, we pray, O Lord. Grant us success as we proclaim the good news of the empty tomb to a world still living in the shadow of death. Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord — our Savior, our Redeemer, our risen King.

Open our hearts now, Lord, as we open Your Word. Prepare us to receive what You have for us in this hour. May everything we do in this service bring honor and glory to the Lamb who was slain and is alive forevermore.

The resurrection morning didn’t begin with trumpets and fanfare — it began with a grieving woman stumbling through the darkness to visit a tomb. Mary Magdalene’s journey from despair to declaration mirrors the journey God invites every person to take this Easter morning. In this passage, we discover three movements that lead us from the darkness of death to the dawn of new life.

I. The Discovery That Disturbed Her (vv. 1-2)

• Mary came to the tomb “while it was still dark” — darkness both literal and spiritual

• The stone was removed — not to let Jesus out, but to let the witnesses in

• Her first response was not faith but fear: “They have taken the Lord!”

• Sometimes God disturbs our expectations before He delivers His promises

II. The Details That Dumbfounded Them (vv. 3-10)

• Peter and John race to the tomb — urgency in the face of the unbelievable

• The grave clothes were lying in order — not the scene of a robbery but of a resurrection

• John “saw and believed” — the evidence spoke louder than their grief

III. The Dialogue That Delivered Her (vv. 11-16)

• Mary stood weeping outside — close to the answer but blinded by sorrow

• Angels asked, “Why are you weeping?” — heaven is puzzled by our grief at an empty tomb

• She mistook Jesus for the gardener — how often do we fail to recognize the Risen Lord standing right beside us?

• One word changed everything: “Mary!” — Jesus calls us by name

IV. The Declaration That Defined Her (vv. 17-18)

• “Do not cling to Me” — the old way of relating to Jesus was being transformed

• Jesus commissioned her: “Go to My brothers” — the first evangelist of the resurrection was a woman the world had dismissed

• Mary’s testimony: “I have seen the Lord!” — not theory, not tradition, but testimony

• Easter faith is never secondhand — it must become your own declaration

CONCLUSION:

Mary came to the tomb carrying spices for a dead body. She left carrying a message that would change the world. This Easter, God invites you to make the same journey Mary made — from the darkness of doubt to the discovery of an empty tomb, from a tearful search for a dead Jesus to a life-transforming encounter with a living Savior. The tomb is still empty. The Lord is still risen. And He is still calling you by name.

Leader: Jesus stood before the governor, and Pilate asked Him, “Are You the King of the Jews?”

People: Jesus said, “You say so.”

Leader: They stripped Him and put a scarlet robe on Him. They twisted a crown of thorns and put it on His head.

People: They mocked Him, saying, “Hail, King of the Jews!”

Leader: They led Him away to crucify Him. Over His head they put the charge against Him: “This is Jesus, the King of the Jews.”

People: Those who passed by derided Him, shaking their heads and saying, “Save Yourself! If You are the Son of God, come down from the cross.”

Leader: From noon until three o’clock, darkness came over the whole land.

People: About three o’clock Jesus cried with a loud voice, “My God, my God, why have You forsaken Me?”

Leader: Then Jesus cried again with a loud voice and breathed His last.

People: At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two, from top to bottom.

Leader: The centurion and those with him keeping watch over Jesus saw the earthquake and what took place, and they were terrified.

Let us pray:

Gracious and merciful God, we gather on this day of paradox—a day when hosannas give way to the shadow of the cross, when triumph walks hand in hand with suffering, when the King enters His city knowing full well what awaits Him.

Like the psalmist, we come before You in our distress, knowing that our eyes grow weak with sorrow, that our souls and bodies carry the weight of grief, that life can feel consumed by anguish. We know what it means to feel forgotten, to face the contempt of others, to hear whispers of conspiracy and threat against us.

Yet on this Palm Sunday, we see in Jesus the One who knew these same afflictions—who would soon be despised and rejected, who would be betrayed by friends, who would face mockery, conspiracy, and death itself.

And so, with the psalmist, we declare our trust in You. We say, “You are our God.” We place our times in Your hands, knowing that even the darkest Friday cannot defeat Your purposes, that even the sealed tomb cannot contain Your love.

Lord, let Your face shine upon us, Your servants, and save us in Your unfailing love. As we walk this week from palms to passion, from celebration to sorrow, from the mountaintop to the valley of the shadow of death, remind us that our Savior has walked this path before us, and that resurrection awaits on the other side of the cross.

In the name of Jesus, who enters Jerusalem as King, we pray. Amen.

Leader: Jesus said to Martha, “I am the resurrection and the life. Those who believe in me, even though they die, will live, and everyone who lives and believes in me will never die.”

Let us pray:

Heavenly Father, we come before You this morning crying out from the depths of our hearts. Like the psalmist, we acknowledge that we stand in need of Your mercy and grace. If You kept a record of our sins, O Lord, none of us could stand before You. But with You there is forgiveness, and so we worship You with reverence and gratitude.

We thank You that You hear our voices when we call to You. You listen to our cries for mercy. You do not turn away from us in our need, but You draw near to us with compassion and love. This morning we ask that You would hear our prayers as we gather in Your name.

Lord, we confess our sins to You. We have fallen short of Your glory. We have failed to love You with all our hearts and to love our neighbors as ourselves. We have walked in darkness when You have called us to walk in light. Forgive us, O God, and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

As we continue this journey through Lent toward the cross, help us to wait for You with expectant hearts. More than watchmen wait for the morning, we wait for Your Word and Your promises. Our souls wait for You, O Lord, for with You there is unfailing love and full redemption.

Redeem us from all our sins. Transform us by Your Spirit. Prepare our hearts for Holy Week and for the celebration of resurrection morning. May this time of worship draw us closer to You and deepen our trust in Your saving grace.

INTRODUCTION:

The story of Lazarus is one of the most dramatic and emotional accounts in the Gospels. It is a story about sickness, death, grief, faith, and ultimately, resurrection. But it is also a story about waiting and wondering why Jesus does not always show up when we think He should. Mary and Martha sent word to Jesus that their brother Lazarus was sick, expecting Him to come immediately. But Jesus delayed. He stayed where He was for two more days. And by the time He arrived, Lazarus had been dead for four days. Why would Jesus delay? What was He waiting for? This passage reveals profound truths about God’s timing, God’s compassion, and God’s power over death itself.

I. The PURPOSE: Understanding Divine Delays (vv. 1-16)

A. The urgent request - “Lord, he whom you love is ill”

B. The unexpected delay - Jesus stayed two days longer

C. Jesus explains: “This illness does not lead to death; rather it is for God’s glory”

D. God’s timing is not our timing - delays are purposeful, not punitive

II. The PAIN: Jesus Enters Our Suffering (vv. 17-37)

A. Martha’s honest grief - “Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died”

B. Jesus makes His declaration - “I am the resurrection and the life”

C. Martha’s confession of faith despite her pain

D. Jesus sees Mary weeping and is “greatly disturbed in spirit and deeply moved”

E. The shortest verse in the Bible - “Jesus wept”

III. The POWER: Jesus Commands Life from Death (vv. 38-44)

IV. The PROCLAMATION: Believing Leads to Life (v. 45)

A. Many who saw what Jesus did believed in Him

B. The miracle points beyond itself to who Jesus is

C. Jesus proves His claim - He is the resurrection and the life

D. This foreshadows His own resurrection

Conclusion:

The raising of Lazarus is more than just a miracle story. It is a preview of Easter morning. It is a demonstration that Jesus has authority over life and death. It is proof that even when Jesus delays, even when things seem hopeless, even when death appears to have the final word, Jesus can speak life into any situation. As we move closer to Holy Week, this passage reminds us that the same Jesus who called Lazarus out of the tomb would Himself walk out of a tomb three days after His crucifixion. He is the resurrection and the life. Those who believe in Him, even though they die, will live. And everyone who lives and believes in Him will never die. The question He asked Martha is the question He asks us today: “Do you believe this?” Our response to that question changes everything.

Leader: Jesus said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness but will have the light of life.”

People: We come seeking the light of Christ, that we might see clearly and walk in His truth.

Leader: Once we were blind, but now we see. Christ has opened our eyes to the glory of God.

People: We come to worship the One who gives sight to the blind and hope to the hopeless.

Leader: The man born blind testified, “One thing I do know, that though I was blind, now I see.”

Heavenly Father, we come into Your presence this morning on this Fourth Sunday of Lent, grateful for this season of reflection and renewal. We thank You for calling us out of darkness into the light of Your Son, Jesus Christ. As we journey through these weeks toward Easter, we are reminded that we were once darkness, but now we are light in the Lord, and we praise You for this transformation.

Lord, this Lenten season calls us to examine our lives honestly before You. Help us to identify any areas where we are still walking in darkness or participating in fruitless deeds. Give us the courage to expose these things to Your light and to turn away from them. Enable us to produce the fruit of the light—all goodness, righteousness, and truth—as we prepare our hearts for the celebration of Christ’s resurrection.

Father, we pray for anyone here today who may be spiritually asleep or walking in darkness. Awaken them by Your Spirit during this sacred season. Raise them from spiritual death and shine the light of Christ upon them so they may truly live.

As we continue our Lenten journey together, teach us through Your Word today. Draw us closer to the cross and help us to understand more deeply what it means to live as children of light. May our lives bring glory to You and point others to the saving light of Jesus Christ.

We offer this prayer in the mighty name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.

The story of the man born blind is one of the most dramatic accounts in the Gospel of John. It is a story of physical healing, spiritual awakening, and bold testimony. I. The CONDITION: A Life of Darkness (vv. 1-7)

Conclusion:

The journey from darkness to devotion is the journey every believer takes. Like the blind man, we were once in darkness, unable to see the truth about God, ourselves, or our need for a Savior. But Jesus, the Light of the World, has opened our eyes. Now we have a testimony to share and a Savior to worship. This Lenten season, let us examine our own hearts. Are there areas of spiritual blindness we need Christ to heal? Are we bold in our testimony? And are we living lives of worship and devotion to the One who gave us sight?

Call to Worship (based on John 4:5-42)

Leader: Jesus came to a Samaritan city and sat down beside the well. He was tired from his journey, yet he had come to offer living water.

People: We come today, weary from our own journeys, thirsting for something more than this world can offer.

Leader: Jesus said, “Everyone who drinks of this water will be thirsty again, but those who drink of the water that I give them will never be thirsty.”

People: Lord, give us this living water, that we may never thirst again!

Leader: The hour is coming, and is now here, when true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth.

People: We come not to a mountain or a temple, but to worship in spirit and truth wherever God calls us.

Leader: The woman said to Jesus, “I know that Messiah is coming. When he comes, he will proclaim all things to us.”

People: Jesus said to her, “I am he, the one who is speaking to you.”

All: Many Samaritans believed because of the woman’s testimony. We believe not only because of her words, but because we have heard for ourselves and know that this is truly the Savior of the world!

Opening Prayer (based on Romans 5:1-11)

Let us pray:

Gracious and merciful God, we come before You this morning with grateful hearts, acknowledging that we have been justified by faith and now stand in Your peace. We do not deserve this gift, yet You have freely given it through the sacrificial death and glorious resurrection of Your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.

As we journey through this Lenten season, we are reminded that while we were still sinners—weak, ungodly, and enemies of Your righteousness—Christ died for us. What love is this! What grace beyond measure! You demonstrated Your own love for us in this: that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Father, we rejoice in the hope of sharing Your glory. But we also know that this season calls us to embrace the reality of suffering and sacrifice. Help us to see that our present trials are not meaningless, but are producing in us perseverance, character, and a hope that does not disappoint. Pour Your love into our hearts afresh through the Holy Spirit who dwells within us.

We confess that we often seek peace in all the wrong places, when true peace comes only through faith in Christ. Forgive us for trying to justify ourselves through our own efforts rather than resting in the finished work of the cross.

During these days of Lenten reflection, draw us deeper into the mystery of reconciliation. Help us to fully grasp that we have been saved from Your wrath through Christ, and that having been reconciled through His death, we shall be saved through His life.

Now, as we worship, open our hearts to receive Your Word. May it transform us, challenge us, and ultimately lead us to the empty tomb where death is defeated and hope springs eternal.

In the name of Christ our Redeemer, we pray. Amen.

Gracious and Holy God,

We come before You this morning as we begin our Lenten journey, reminded that from the very beginning, You created us for fellowship with You. Yet even in paradise, temptation found a foothold, and humanity chose our own way over Your perfect will.

As we recall the tragic exchange in Eden—truth traded for lies, obedience for independence, trust for doubt—we recognize ourselves in that ancient story. We too have been drawn away by the serpent’s cunning questions. We too have reached for what was forbidden, believing we could be sufficient without You.

During this sacred season, search our hearts. Expose the subtle deceptions we have believed. Strengthen us against temptation. Help us to fast from pride, feast on Your Word, and walk humbly in obedience to Your will.

As we worship You today, open our eyes to see You more clearly, our ears to hear Your voice more distinctly, and our hearts to love You more deeply. May this Lenten journey lead us to the cross, to the empty tomb, and to renewed life in You.

Lord, we thank You that even when darkness surrounds us, light dawns for the upright—for You are gracious, compassionate, and righteous. Let us pray:

Gracious and Holy God,

We come before You this morning asking the question posed by the psalmist: “Lord, who may dwell in Your sanctuary? Who may live on Your holy mountain?”

We acknowledge that You are holy, righteous, and pure. Your dwelling place is sacred, and Your presence is the greatest privilege we could ever know. Yet we confess that we fall short of the righteousness You require. We have not always walked blamelessly. Our words have not always been true. We have not always honored our commitments or treated our neighbors with the love and justice they deserve.

But we come not in our own merit, Lord, but clothed in the righteousness of Christ. Through His sacrifice, we have access to Your presence. Through His grace, we may enter Your courts with thanksgiving and Your gates with praise.

As we worship You today, create in us clean hearts. Shape us into people who speak truth from the heart, who do what is right, who honor You in both our words and our deeds. Help us to be a people of integrity—not just when others are watching, but in the quiet moments when only You see.

Centuries before it happened, you spoke through the prophet Isaiah about a child who would be called Emmanuel—God with us. You were already setting your plan in motion, already preparing to come near to your people in the most unexpected way.

We confess that we don’t always recognize the signs of your presence. Like King Ahaz, we sometimes refuse to look for you or ask for your help, thinking we can manage on our own. Yet you come to us anyway. You don’t wait for us to get everything right before drawing close to us.

As we stand on the edge of Christmas, help us to truly grasp what we’re about to celebrate—that you loved us enough to become one of us, to enter into our world as a vulnerable infant. You didn’t remain distant. You came near.

In these last few days of waiting, prepare our hearts to receive Jesus afresh. Help us move past the busyness and distractions to focus on what Christmas really means: that you are Emmanuel, God with us.

We pray in the name of Jesus, the child born in Bethlehem.

Opening Prayer (based on Isaiah 35:1-10)

Let us pray:

Gracious and loving God,

We come before you this morning with hearts that long to see your glory revealed among us. Just as you promised that the wilderness and the parched land would be glad, we ask that you would bring life and renewal to the dry and weary places in our own lives. Where there is spiritual barrenness, bring forth your abundant life. Where there is discouragement, let your joy spring up like flowers in the desert.

Lord, we gather as people who need your strength and healing touch. Some of us come with weak hands and feeble knees, burdened by the struggles of this week. Strengthen us, we pray. Speak to our anxious hearts and remind us that you are our God, that you come with salvation and with the recompense we need. Open the eyes of our understanding that we might see you more clearly. Unseal our ears that we might hear your voice speaking to us through your Word today. May those who feel lame in their faith leap with new vigor, and may those who have been silent in their praise sing for joy.

We thank you that you have prepared a way for us to walk with you, a highway of holiness where we can journey in safety and in the light of your presence. Remove from us everything that would defile or distract us from following you wholeheartedly. As we worship you now, may your redeemed people lift our voices in gladness, knowing that you have overcome sorrow and sighing, and that you offer us everlasting joy. Meet with us here, we pray, in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
