Alternative Sermon for Thanksgiving

We realize that the Lectionary didn’t provide any great texts to use this week if you wanted to emphasize Thanksgiving. We’ve decided to give you another sermon (outline for free subscribers, full manuscript for paid subscribers) that has a definite Thanksgiving theme. Feel free to use this alternative.

TITLE: ABOUNDING IN THANKSGIVING

Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving. – Colossians 2:6-7 (ESV)

1. I’M OBLIGATED TO OBEDIENCE

…walk in Him.

2. I’M DEDICATED TO DEVELOPMENT

…rooted and built up in Him.

3. I’M CULTIVATING MY CONVICTIONS

…established in the faith, just as you were taught.

4. I’M EXPRESSING MY PRAISE

…abounding in thanksgiving.
